Spring Events

Bi-monthly Meetings

When: Every other Wednesday at 5:30 pm

        March 12th, March 26th, April 9th, April 23rd, and May 7th

Where: A228 Russell Labs

Come our meetings and learn about all of the excellent opportunities we will be offering.  Activities this spring include watching Greater Prairie Chickens, Salamander nights, Maple Syrup Mayhem, Prairie Restoration, Kettle Moraine spring phenology trip, and the TWS student conclave.  We also will often have guest speakers from wildlife professions to talk about their work.  If you can't make it, contact Rachel Guy (guy@wisc.edu) and she will get you on our e-mail list so you can keep up to date on the future wildlife events. 

Prairie Restorations

When: Various weekends throughout the semester.  Keep up to date on specific dates via e-mail

Where: Different places around south central Wisconsin; meet behind Russell Labs

 

Prairie Chicken Census

When: Saturday, April 5th

Where:  Buena Vista near Steven's Point.  We will leave Madison at 3:00 am to get there on time.  Pick-ups from home can be arranged.

 

North Central Section Student Conclave

When: April 11th-13th

Where: Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  We will leave Friday (April 11th) early afternoon.

This year our chapter of the wildlife society is co-hosting the Student Conclave with Michigan Tech.  There will be many interesting speakers and workshops presented by professionals in the field of Wildlife Ecology.  It is also a great chance to network!
